NCAD WORKS 2025 provides a portal to the full breadth of work by our extraordinary graduates from across our four schools of Fine Art, Design, Education, and Visual Culture and encompasses students graduating from our broad range of undergraduate, postgraduate, and CEAD programmes.

We are extremely proud of this year’s graduating students who each in different  ways demonstrate NCAD’s belief in the vital contribution that creative practice makes to our society as a force that creates space for care, reflection, innovation and new thinking—all of which are essential to a cohesive and dynamic society and economy. 

NCAD’s graduates are the pipeline that drive Ireland’s creative and cultural sectors and their work will have an impact across society in years to come. 

Their own lived experience of our complex world is central to our graduates’ work.  As part of their journey, NCAD students have the opportunity to develop their creative practice beyond the walls of campus through long-term engagements with community partners and collaborators in a range of settings.  These collaborations expand their experience and understanding of key societal issues such as housing, cultural identity and social cohesion and climate crises, and are reflected in their final projects.

The work of this generation of NCAD students not only provides critical insights into society today, but also reminds us that the possibility of transformation exists with fresh, solution-focused thinking. Their creativity reinforces the power of art and design to influence and inspire real change.

BA Interaction Design

So much of our lives are shaped by the technologies we use, the services we engage with, and the systems that we are embedded in. Our interactions with these products, services, and systems can have huge impacts on our success, our wellbeing, and our connections with others. Interaction Design in NCAD is about shaping these designed experiences to better meet our needs, our wants, and our desires. We first consider the human and societal need before crafting the technologies and interfaces which deliver it.

At its core, Interaction Design is about imagining things as they might be, not accepting them as they are. 

The BA Interaction Design programme explores the relationship between people and technology through three district design approaches. Through a robust Human Centred Design approach students conduct real world research into complex situations and identify innovative design solutions with real impact. Other students engage in a Creative Technology driven approach, building interactive digital prototypes to explore and define new interactions with digital technologies. The final approach seeks to make us reflect on the complex contemporary issues by raising questions and manifesting new possibilities through the language of Critical Design.

This year students' projects tackle a range of subjects including; supporting healing and grieving through situated experience design in nature, keeping the richness of regional traditional music alive by supporting aural learning, tackling loneliness in children's hospital stays through playful interactions, harnessing AI to support creative confidence, and using technology to increase focused working for those with ADHD.
