Student Bio/ End of Year Statement
I am a driven, outgoing designer focusing on human-centred design for medical devices. My work combines creativity, problem-solving, and empathy to explore how innovation may enhance the human experience.
I am from Canada, where I attained a Bachelor of Design, Engineering Route at the University of Alberta.
During my undergraduate degree, I completed a practicum in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), designing tools for monitoring pre-term infant behaviour. The final design is an app currently piloted by the NIDCAP Federation International.
I also interned with the British Columbia Interior Health Authority, developing materials for provincial healthcare improvement projects.
For my final undergraduate project, I re-designed an at-home blood pressure monitor, which inspired me to pursue my MSc in Medical Device Design in Dublin.
During my master's, I have completed projects with UCC Assert, The Mater Hospital, St James's Hospital, West Pharmaceuticals, Stryker, and Hollister. I am currently working with Stryker for my final major project.
