Recollections of Something That Never Was
This body of work reflects the surreal, the subject of sleep, and the bizarre phenomenon that is dreaming. It has evolved as an investigative personal dream journal.
One of the key elements I examined was the symbiotic relationship between our perceptions of natural landscapes and how they present themselves in our dreams. I explore the theories of why, and how we dream. Creating installations moulding my own personal dream experiences, influenced by recollections of all five senses.
My research was inspired by Freuds theory of the uncanny, Jung's work about sleep, the unconscious, and the idea of ‘spatialised feelings’. The work has elements of textiles, paint, writing and video throughout.
