Dallanie Mae Tanedo is a Filipina-Irish interdisciplinary artist working in performance, moving-image, new technologies, reactive visuals, and installations. Her work combines technology and art to investigate contemporary matters around capitalism, privacy and surveillance. She focuses on the shift in social systems and power dynamics within internet culture, social media and new technologies.
Inspired by critical discussions of surveillance capitalism and digital sex workers, Tanedo’s video performance, 'CLICK HERE!//Petite_Asian_Girl_at_Work.mp4' explores work and pleasure mediated through a screen, and the power dynamics between subject and voyeur. Drawing on an interview with an Asian OnlyFans creator, CLICK HERE!//Petite_Asian_Girl_at_Work.mp4 offers a deeper understanding of the experiences of digital sex workers.
Through performance she investigates the objectification and spectacularisation of the human experience in pornography as mediated through technology.
