Regular and Irregular
My project draws inspiration from geometry and mathematical shapes. Shapes have long held significance in symbolism and psychology, influencing how we perceive the world around us. It is this perception, how we see and interpret form, that led me on a journey from recycled regular polygons to irregular ones.
An irregular polygon is defined by its unequal sides and angles. This concept resonates deeply with my personal journey as a neurodivergent individual. I believe that embracing irregularity and stepping away from societal norms can lead to creativity, beauty, and self-expression.
The pieces in this exhibition demonstrate a diversity of form, a journey from recycled regularity to uniquely irregular works. Crafted from sterling silver and gold leaf, they blend structure with creativity. The result is a series of geometric polygons that capture the essence of both order and individuality, reflecting my belief that diversity, in all its forms, is something to be celebrated.
