The Land Question in an Era of Ecological Destruction
'The Land Question' has been at the core of all Irish history. Who owns the land, and what is being done with it, continues to have huge impacts on Irish people, as it has throughout history. This project seeks to address the The Land Question in an age of growing ecological crisis, where an increasingly international and financialised society means that we are less connected than we have ever been.
'Threads of Data' is a data visualisation project that examines how aspects of the Irish landscape have changed over time through environmental data, and contextualises them through significant events in Irish history. Hand-stitching physicalises this data to the viewer, and connects them to the deeper relationships we once had with the materials produced from the land.
'Choill an tSeanchinn' is a publication that explores our relationship with the land by looking at the specific site of Oldhead Wood in County Mayo. By archiving the site and its history, it seeks to explore how our relationship with the land and its ecology has changed through the history of a specific site.
