Under My Skin
Fabric is a witness to history, worn, mended, passed down. It holds the warmth of our bodies, the labour of our hands. It deteriorates with time. 'Under My Skin' is a body of work that investigates the topic of women's labour and the passing of memories from one generation to the next.
Drawing inspiration from Polish culture and historical events, the pieces are depicted as objects that are continuously restitched, patched, and rebuilt. Through this visual combination of delicate and violent, it highlights the abandoned forms of women's labour and questions what is deemed important enough to be preserved and forgotten about our past.
