Blue Whale vs. Vatican City
A critical view on humanity’s current treatment of the environment and its effects on our general ability to connect, this work is also a personal expression of struggles with communication and intimacy. Using the texture and language of theatre, and maintaining an element of the handmade, it comments on how AI and high production values have assumed a certain ideology.
An "unemployed" deity scrambles to adjust to new modes of worship. The oracle’s objects appear alongside her, a hoard in a crypt. Marble eggs have no apparent use but hold a connection to bygone generations. Trinkets of little significance, it makes no sense to show them off. Luxurious items like the humidifier and coffee are her attempts to assimilate.
She drinks the coffee with sparse enjoyment, and the steam from the humidifier is artificial. She tries to do herself up as an influencer might, but her products are far from cosmetic.
