I am Seaweed
My work explores mental health through metaphor, using seaweed as a symbol of the self, both fragile and resilient, grounded and afloat. Through layered intaglio printmaking processes and material experimentation with dried seaweed, fabric, laser cutting, and sound, the work reflects the emotional ebb and flow of healing.
Rooted in personal experience, the work invites viewers to slow down, look inward, and reflect on their relationship with themselves. It speaks to the quiet, non-linear process of healing, offering not solutions but space for reflection and connection.
The work aims to invite acceptance of the self, even the parts we often resist. It responds to the shared human experience of navigating inner emotions and shows that healing isn’t about fighting the tides, but learning to move with them.
