Consumed
'Consumed' is a stop-motion piece commenting on the time we spend online and the overwhelming variety of information we access. It explores how the many rabbit holes we go down can manifest, creating strange perceptions of reality and a sense of isolation when time is lost to a digital environment. The character in many ways embodies my growing fears of online narratives, with increasingly blurred lines between truth and fiction.
This work stems from my own relationship with technology – attempting to limit my screen time while also being in a screen-led industry. I turn to stop motion as a deliberate move away from the screen, engaging physically. This approach evokes a sense of disillusionment here, creating a world that feels real and yet is constructed and controlled.
Through Consumed, I invite the viewer to take notice of the quiet erosion of time, self, and connection in the digital age.
