Canvas Quilts
This body of work is predominantly about colour and its interaction, geometric shapes used in combination with lines, and general mark-making. Within the shapes are inspirational segments similar to materials that can be found in our environment- laces, fabrics, patterns.
The art works are a compositional representation of the mind. Random thoughts and
memories, indescribable feelings and emotions expressed by colour. Unfinished lines of thoughts going through circles, bright flurries of colour equating happiness, and sadness etc.
My mind and thoughts through the young eyes of a child, by using some of the tools they would know, and to showcase and/or describe how they are feeling, by using colour, shapes, lines and mark-making done using a geometry set and paint, straight from the toolkit of a school child.
