This is Dublin
In this body of work, I invite viewers to explore the complex and often challenging urban landscape of Dublin through a series of acrylic paintings created on wooden panel boards. Drawing inspiration from my own photographs, I aim to illuminate the stark realities of a city that has undergone significant and troubling transformation.
These paintings capture the multifaceted essence of Dublin, reflecting the pressing social issues that have emerged in recent years. Through careful composition and use of colour and light, I convey a sense of urgency and unease that permeates the streets.
Each piece serves as a visual commentary on the city and its struggles with waste, homelessness, dereliction, and anti-social behaviour. I hope that each piece not only captures a moment in time but also sparks a deeper understanding of the complexities that lie beneath the surface of our urban environments.
