Fleeting Permanence
'Fleeting Permanence' is a process-led project that unfolded through complexity and contradiction before gradually resolving into a meditation on the fundamental paradox of existence; every action, every moment inevitably generates opposing outcomes. What seems simple is complex; what appears complex, simple. Life’s exactly as you say - and not at all.
The materials crystallise Sigita’s ideas. Working waste-consciously, she gives central focus to the glass jar - a reminder that nothing is permanent, but constantly recycled and reinvented, with meaning and purpose reassigned. The use of mirrors introduces perceptual confusion, challenging which reality to believe. They draw the viewer into the framework, not just to reflect, but to question perception’s reliability and the limits of subjectivity.
This is a response to a world in existential crisis, saturated with environmental anxiety, social fragmentation, digital overstimulation, and political polarisation.
