Love in Presence
Sinead’s artwork is centred around the theme of love, whether romantic, platonic, or familial. Through the active effort of preserving the present and capturing fleeting scenes of everyday life, she hopes to paint moments of closeness between people. Her work explores the expectations of idyllic love, the ache of its absence, and the quiet, often unexpected, intimacy found in reality. Sinead’s aim is to draw attention to our everyday relationships, to how love lives in ordinary moments, and to find the balance in accepting the present for what it is.
Through the use of scale— where larger paintings reflect big ideas like hopes, and longings, and smaller pieces capture quiet, intimate moments— Sinead creates a rhythm between expectation and reality. She softens facial features and uses light and colour intentionally to evoke the feeling of memory, presence, and closeness in relationships.
