Tara O’Reilly
she/her
Heatstroke
Tara’s work is created in a modern approach to apprehend the rapid acceleration of stimuli produced through both our offline and online worlds today. The paintings emerge from ideas of the exhaustive depletion of the span of contemporary attention.
Her work is based around cyber-spheric platforms, online scrolling and media inundation. Tara does this through using a variety of compositions, often based on surrealist art. Working from sources that originate directly from her camera roll, she focuses on photographs taken at times where she feels time could have been spent more wisely by living in the moment. Through her work, Tara provokes a critique of digital oversaturation.
